Providencia is one of the smallest and most privileged island, since unlike other islands it has an immense cliff, made up of beautiful mountains and peaceful places that lead to the highest and most majestic place in the Archipelago, called "EL PEAK" which is a natural reserve .
The island of Providencia is crossed by a mountain range oriented from north to south, whose maximum height reaches 360 meters and is called El Pico (The Peak).
You can reach The Peak by land.
In this place most of the waters of Providencia are born. Here it is planned to locate the first botanical garden of the island, which includes an astronomical observatory within its ark. Some time ago the Arboles y Arrecifes Foundation was created, an organization in charge of caring for and ensuring the maintenance of native species, the protection of the environment and the execution of projects for cultural and environmental benefit.
