The Military Museum of Buçaco was inaugurated on September 27, 1910, on the occasion of the 1st centenary of the Battle of Buçaco, which synthesizes the valor and heroic action of the Anglo-Portuguese army during the period of the Peninsular War.
Expanded and remodeled in 1962, it has valuable collections of weapons, uniforms and equipment used in Batalha, of which stands a piece of artillery with the respective garrison.
In panels, alluding to the brilliant deeds of weapons practiced, one remembers with emotion and gratitude the brave and determined behavior of all the Portuguese Units that took part in the Peninsular War (1808-1814). Their action was due to the defense of national identity and independence.
