Toya Kawanami
Located right in front of Lake Toya, Toya Kawanami offers Japanese-style accommodations with lake views, free wired internet and English-speaking staff. Guests can borrow free-use bicycles to tour the area from April to November, refresh in the hot-spring baths and request relaxing massages for an extra cost. JR Toya Train Station is a 20-minute drive away.
The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. A fridge, flat-screen TV and an electric kettle are included in each, and Yukata robes are provided for all guests. Rooms include a private toilet but bathrooms are shared.
A coin-launderette is on-site and guests can purchase local gifts at the souvenir shop. You can play billiards or table tennis after refreshing in the Ganbanyoku hot-stone spa or in a hot yoga session. The 24-hour front desk offers luggage storage and daily newspapers. Diving activities can be arranged and equipment rentals are available if requested 1 week in advance.
Traditional multi-course meals featuring grill dishes are served for dinner, and a Japanese set-menu is available for breakfast. Meals are served at the dining room.
Kawanami Toya Ryokan is a 5-minute drive from Mount Usu and a 35-minute drive from Kimundo Falls.
